September 5, 2017 / Manufacturing quality classes available at VU Jasper Campus

JASPER, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Metrology program will offer manufacturing quality classes at the Vincennes University Jasper Campus starting September 19 at the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing. This program was specifically chosen and designed to meet the needs of local employers. The deadline to register is September 8.

According to Wes Shelton, director of VU Jasper’s Metrology program, courses have been developed for individuals both new to the manufacturing environment and those with some background in quality processes.

The dimensional measurement class will meet on September 19 and 26, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (EDT); lunch is included. The course is designed for both individuals new to the manufacturing environment who need to use and care for basic precision measurement equipment in their jobs or for those needing a refresher in precision measurement. The curse fee is $525.

The quality concepts class will meet on September 20 and 27, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; lunch is included.  The course is designed for individuals new to, or with some background in, the quality process and also for those process leaders who support the practice of business excellence.  The history and context of the quality function is reviewed along with the use of basic problem solving tools and techniques.  The course fee is $495.
