VINCENNES, Ind. - The 19th Annual Old Post Bluegrass Jam will
be Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST), at Vincennes University’s
Jefferson Union, 1379 N. Chestnut Street. Admission is free.
In addition to open music jams throughout the building, an open
stage will feature performances by Mariah Creek at 12 noon, Lost River
Risin at 1 p.m., and The Daviess County Pickers at 2 p.m.
Jefferson Union is located next to VU’s P.E. Complex, with free
parking nearby at the Chestnut Street parking lot. Persons may enter
Jefferson Union directly from a sidewalk on the south side of the
building, adjacent to the Updike Center, or enter the P.E. Complex and
proceed to an entrance at the end of the hallway.
The Jefferson Union Café and Jazzman’s Brew and Bakery will be
open, and a special Bluegrass Barbecue sandwich will also be available.
There have been as many as ten different jam sessions going on
simultaneously during the event in past years. Musicians form jams
just about everywhere. Persons are encouraged to pull up a chair any
place a jam session forms. Experienced musicians also welcome the less
experienced to join in the fun.
