Golf Coach

Dennis Chattin took over the Vincennes University men's golf program in the fall of 2003 and he has coached the Trailblazers to three national titles. The Trailblazers claimed their second NJCAA Division III National Championship of his Trailblazer coaching tenure with the 2016 title. VU won its third NJCAA Division III National Championship under Chattin in June 2018 and he was named Division III Coach of the Year.

VU has also finished third, fifth and seventh in the Naitonal Championship Tournament under Coach Chattin's direction. The team's success also garnered prestigious individual awards for Coach Chattin. He is a three-time NJCAA Division III Coach of the Year, while claiming NJCAA Region 12 Coach of the Year honors five times.

Coach Chattin has a wealth of teaching and coaching experience plus communication skills. He is a former math teacher at North Knox High School, where he was the Warriors' head golf coach and varsity assistant basketball coach for nine years.

He was also employed by Farm Bureau Insurance for more than 20 years, where he held several positions with the company, including Regional Sales Manager for a 33-county segment of Indiana. He concluded his career with Farm Bureau as an agent in a Vincennes Farm Bureau Office.

Coach Chattin has a Master's Degree in Math Education from Indiana State University.  He and his wife, Beth, have two children, Ryan, a former MVP in golf at Ball State University and currently employed by the Coca Cola company and Brooke, a representative with Sanofi Aventis Pharmaceutical Company.
