Vincennes University bowling receives two exciting commitments for 20-21 season

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University bowling program has received two exciting commitments for the 20-21 season.

We are thrilled to announce that both Riley Russell (Marion High School, Marion, Ind.) and Dylan Mollo (Centerville High School, Centerville, Ind.) have committed to bowl for the Trailblazers after they graduate from high school.

VU Bowling Coach Jesse Gibson says. . .

“Riley Russell is actually the brother of a former alumnus here, Ronnie Russell. Ronnie went on to have a very successful career. He’s one of the most successful bowlers in Indiana, with four PBA tour titles to his name. Riley is very excited to follow in his footsteps and hopefully add his name to one of the many trophies we have collected here. It wasn’t until recently that Riley picked up bowling himself, as he is a two-sport athlete, also currently playing baseball. Between him and his nephew Cayden, they’ve both been competing and have made a little bit of a rivalry, this is something that drove Riley towards competing in high school. He has a lot of fun with bowling, and a lot of talent, especially for someone who has only been bowling for two years now.”

“Dylan Mollo has had a very successful career so far, probably one of the most fundamentally sound two-handed bowlers that I have ever seen coming out of high school. Dylan this past year decided to come down visit with us. We talked about the program and I got to work with him for a little bit. He expressed how much he likes the campus, he loves the fact that we have a pro shop here, he loves that we have a bowling center on campus, and Vincennes really tailors to his needs. He had at one point this past year the highest average in his conference at 231. This year when I got to go watch the state finals with his team, you could really tell that Dylan was a leader and his team took to whatever Dylan was doing.”

“We’re definitely really excited to have these guys coming on board with us and welcome to the VU family, especially as talented as they are.”
