VU Golf Looks to Continue Run of Excellence

VINCENNES, Ind. - The Vincennes University Golf Team is preparing for the upcoming 2019 fall season and looking to uphold the high standard that previous years have set.

“We only have two players returning for this season”, VU Golf Coach Dennis Chattin said of the 2019 roster, “so it’s going to be a real learning experience for us.”

The Trailblazers are returning sophomores Matt Jordan (Franklin, Ind.) and Cole Parmer (Greensburg, Ind.).

Chattin had this to say about Jordan, “(He) is a top five returner from last year’s team and has been playing a lot of golf this summer so we are counting on his leadership.”

Filling out the rest of the 2019 roster is sophomore Gage Miller (Olney, Ill.) and incoming freshmen; Bryce Kirschner (North Vernon, Ind.), Noah Crays (Plainfield, Ind.), Brock Craney (Washington, Ind.), and Coleton Hostetler (Vincennes, Ind.).

Chattin has high hopes for the newcomers to the Trailblazers’ team.

“We are looking forward to some strong freshmen play from Kirschner and Crays, who had nice high school careers,” Chattin said.

“It’s always an adjustment period for freshmen, but I think we have a good group to work with.”

The Trailblazer fall season begins with the Fall Preview at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort, Illinois on Aug. 30.
