VU men’s basketball is hosting annual Golf Outing September 24th

Vincennes, Ind. – The Vincennes University men’s basketball program is hosting their annual “Scramble for Hoops” Golf Outing on Tuesday September 24th at the Country Club of Old Vincennes.

 

The net proceeds from the golf outing will benefit the men’s basketball program. Over the years, thousands of students have been able to attend VU through scholarships. We continue to increase our efforts to reach and assist even more students in order to have a positive, influence on advancing their career.

 

The Vincennes University Athletic Department is proud to offer you a great day of golf, friendship and fun. The fee to play is $75/per person ($300/per team of four). Your entry fee includes cart, green fees, hot dogs, snacks, beverages, and prizes for everyone. Registration is on a first come (paid), first reserved basis and we are limited to 30 teams.

 

Sign-in is set to begin at 10:30 am, Lunch at 11, Check-in no later than 11:15 and a shotgun start at noon eastern.

 

In case of inclement weather, the golf outing will be re-scheduled at a date to be determined. Refunds not available.

Scholarship Fund

Trailblazer Scholarship Fund - The VU Foundation awarded a record $1.4 million scholarship dollars of VU Foundation and University funds for the 2015-2016 school year to incoming and returning VU students.  

These included awards to students from 10 states across the country and 4 international awards.  

Currently the VU Foundation manages over 540 scholarship and department funds, with 259 new funds created in just the last 10 years.

Play for Kay Cancer Awareness

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause. Kay Yow was a college head coach for 38 years and past president and founding member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. Her name is synonymous with North Carolina State. She is a member of the Naismith National Basketball Hall of Fame and achieved more than 700 career victories. Yow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. She passed away in 2009 after an on-again, off-again battle with the disease.
