VU Track & Field stays put in this week’s USTFCCCA/NJCAA national polls

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Vincennes University Women’s Track & Field Team remained 10th and the Trailblazer men stayed put at No. 14 in this week’s USTFCCCA NJCAA Div. I National Championship Rankings.
The South Plains men and women hold the top spots in the Division I national rankings for the fourth consecutive week when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the div computer rankings on Wednesday morning. In fact, both top-10 lists of teams remained the same from the previous week.
  • For a complete look at this week’s rankings, see the attached document in PDF format.
The NJCAA Division I rankings will be released every Wednesday between now and the May 14-16 national championships in Hutchinson, Kansas.
The Vincennes University Track & Field Teams are scheduled to compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational Saturday at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex at Indiana University.
VU enters Saturday’s meet coming off of one of a performance at Bellarmine that continued some Trailblazer competitors’ national championship contention hopes, shattered VU records and added even more VU qualifiers for next month’s NJCAA Outdoor National Championship Meet in Hutchinson, KS.

The Vincennes University Athletic Department hosts Play4Kay and raises donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund annually. VU Women’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Harry Meeks has a special connection to the late Yow, who was the longtime coach at North Carolina State. He had the pleasure of meeting her while he was an assistant coach at Western Carolina University. This left a lasting impression on him and made this cause important to him and the Trailblazers.
