PUBLIC NOTICE: ACEN Accreditation Approval

Documentation of Proof of Notification to Students Regarding Accreditation Status April 2021

The Nursing Department typically sends communications to students using the email address you have provided on your application.  Since email has been adopted as a primary mechanism for sending official communications to students, students must check email regularly in order to read important messages and notifications. Certain communications may be time-sensitive. Failure to read official university communications sent to the students does not absolve students from knowing and complying with the content of those official communications. Students must also ensure that there is sufficient space in their e-mail inboxes to allow email to be delivered and received.  Be sure that emails are not being sent to your junk mail/SPAM.

Essential Skills/Functions

To enter into and to complete the nursing programs, nursing students, with or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to meet certain emotional, cognitive, and physical requirements.  Please click here to learn more about essential skills and functions.

Nursing Program Admission Scoring Sheets

The selection process for Vincennes University's Nursing Programs are based on the premise that student selection is vital to the development and maintenance of a strong program. The standards of selection will also contribute to the quality of care administered by graduates of the programs.  In order to successfully complete the programs, students must be highly motivated and have an academic background sufficient to cope with the curriculum.   Compliance with all criteria does not guarantee acceptance to the program.  Applicants will be evaluated based on the following points system.  Applicants should consult the Vincennes University catalog at www.vinu.edu/catalog for a complete listing of admission criteria.

Orientation Information and dates
Applicants that are selected for admission should be aware that there will be mandatory orientation sessions that take place prior to classes beginning in the Fall.   Applicants must be able to attend the appropriate orientation session in order to begin a nursing program. Students selected for admission will be provided additional details.
