Fellows for Xmester

The Early College Fellowship, a Vincennes University early college residential program, is a fast-paced education experience designed to introduce prospective educators to teaching rigorous college courses to high school students. Teachers in this model are both secondary teachers and adjunct faculty, a rare yet exciting new breed of educator. This pre-professional program — a collaborative effort created from a unique early college high school partnership between Vincennes University in Indiana and school districts located in various parts of Indiana — is intended to give the Fellows an intense hands-on experience and valuable career guidance and support before embarking upon their credential training.

Why should I pursue a residential fellowship?
Traditional teacher training rarely includes career guidance and the graduate coursework necessary to satisfy the credentialing requirements of high schools and colleges.

Early College Fellows learn about the model and the training required should they wish to pursue opportunities in early colleges.  Fellows will also be prepared to transition to teaching AP courses, honors courses, and courses that enroll high potential students from traditionally underrepresented groups.
