about Vincennes University’s successful CNC Machining Apprenticeship
program are invited to an Apprenticeship Breakfast and Information
Session on November 16, 7 a.m. (EST). The event will take place at
VU’s Gene Haas Training and Education Center, 316 N. Mt. Zion Road.

Apprenticeships help companies develop a world-class,
customized training model that combines work-based learning with
related classroom instruction using the highest industry standards.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, apprenticeship has
dramatically improved the lives, careers and opportunities for
millions of workers and more than 150,000 businesses over the last 80
years, from careers in healthcare, energy, and IT, to manufacturing,
transportation, and beyond.
The benefits are substantial - companies that offer
apprenticeship programs can diversify their workforce, improve
productivity and profitability, standardize training, reduce turnover,
receive tax credits, and more. The average starting wage for
apprentices is more than $60,000, and workers will earn an average of
$300,000 more over their lifetime than their non-apprentice peers.
