April 27, 2017 / Register for Certified Nursing Assistant training at VU Jasper
JASPER, Ind. - Two sessions of Certified Nursing Assistant training will be offered during Summer 2017 at the Vincennes University Jasper Campus. Applicants must attend an orientation meeting on May 10, 6 p.m. EST, at the VUJC Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing.
The 105-hour program includes 30 classroom hours and 75 clinical hours. The curriculum meets all required guidelines for nursing assistant training set forth by the Federal Government and the State of Indiana. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the Indiana State CNA competency examination.
Registration will begin May 12 at the CTIM. Full payment or agency voucher is required at the time of registration. The course fee is $995 and includes all textbooks, materials, and state testing fees. Students will be responsible for the cost of the Indiana State Police criminal background check, physical exam, TB testing, and clinical scrubs.
An eight-week evening session will begin May 30. Hours of classroom instruction are 5:30-9:30 p.m., May 30 to June 1; 8-4:30 p.m., June 3; 5:30-9:30 p.m., June 5 to 8. Clinicals begin after classroom instruction and require some weekend hours.
A five-week daytime session will begin July 10. Hours of instruction will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Clinicals begin after classroom instruction and require some weekend hours.
