Robertson is appointed Director of Multicultural Affairs

VINCENNES, Ind. - Diondraie Robertson has been appointed director of Multicultural Affairs at Vincennes University.

A native of Chicago, Robertson earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2010 and a bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Michigan State University in 2001.  His most recent positions include serving as a doctoral admissions advisor for Colorado Technical University and as the dean of students/assistant principal for Charter Schools USA in Ft. Launderdale, Forida.

Robertson’s experience also includes serving in residence life leadership and student affairs as an undergraduate student. While at Michigan State he was part of the McNair/SROP Scholars program. He also became a resident assistant in 2000 and then a multicultural resident aide in 2001 where he coordinated various student-run programs throughout Michigan State’s campus of over 40,000 students.

While obtaining his master’s degree, Robertson was also a lead middle school math teacher for three years at Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida. After obtaining his master’s degree in 2010, Robertson served as a K-12 administrator in the Orange County Public School district for the next six years, in charge of overall school discipline, safety, and security as well as serving as the lead administrator for conflict resolution, multicultural competency, and diversity awareness.

As VU’s director of Multicultural Affairs, Robertson has the primary responsibility for the development and coordination of outreach and awareness programs which promote multicultural education for the campus community. The director serves a culturally diverse group of students at VU by promoting and creating innovative programs and events. The director supports the academic mission of the University and provides cultural experiences for all students and the University community.
