VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University volleyball player Genesis Senfle Milisde has signed with Indiana University East (NAIA). She is a graduate of Centro Educativo Metas in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Genesis is a 6’1” middle blocker/outside hitter majoring in Sports Management at VU:

* played on the Junior National Team for the Dominican Republic before attending Vincennes University

* selected to the 2017 All-Tournament Team at Wallace State C.C.

* will join VU teammate Cali Topolski at IU East who started there in January

* VU won 59 matches in her 2 seasons

* NJCAA ranking in both seasons after elevation to DI (first year in DI was in 2016)

Team highlights for the 2017 season include:

* NJCAA DI #20 ranking for the weeks of September 6 and 12 (4 weeks total on the national poll)

* Showdown on the Wabash Tournament Champions

* 30-12 overall record

* Reached the Semi-Final of the NJCAA District J playoff tournament

Indiana University East Coach Abby Niekamp: “Genesis is a great addition to our team. She’s such a versatile and athletic player, really a complete volleyball player. She can play any front row position and will most likely be a 6 rotation player for us. Genesis also brings a certain level of leadership and maturity. We’re excited to see how she impacts our program!”

Gary Sien, VU Head Women's Volleyball Coach: "Genesis was a late addition to the program when I started in June 2016. She has certainly been one of our top players as she led us in kills in both 2016 and 2017. You could not have asked for a better situation for her as she reunites with teammate Cali Topolski who is a setter. Indiana University East is a rising program and those two can contribute immediately. More importantly, they are getting a very good, hard working student. Genesis is a good person with a great disposition which will help in a leadership role. She is looking to take advantage of this opportunity to study and play here in the U.S. We have no doubt she will have continued success in these and other areas.”
