Natural Resource and Environmental Science professionals work to manage and protect our air, water, soil resources along with the animals and fish that occupy them.  These careers usually involve working outdoors during the spring through fall.  There are many state and federal agencies who hire for these positions.

What's Unique about this Degree:  Students take courses that get them outside learning about the careers and equipment used in environmental science.  VU’s 600 acre old growth Robeson Hills Nature Preserve, along with the Wabash River are the “classrooms” for this major.

Good to Know: The two-year Natural Resource and Environmental Science major at Vincennes University has concentrations designed to transfer to Purdue University, as well as “2+2” programs with USI and ISU for the completion of the baccalaureate degree.  These first two years will help you build a solid foundation in general education and core science classes.

Who is this degree for: Anyone who has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys collecting scientific information.  This is also for the person who wants to communicate to the public the importance of managing and protecting natural resources.
