Veterans Financial Assistance
Many students come to Vincennes University with existing education benefits obtained from their military service. Veterans often use a variety of education benefits, scholarships, and finacial aid to cover the cost of their tuition and fees.
Students are also encouraged to apply for federal financial aid by completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Vincennes University offers a wide variety of scholarships that can be obtained by completing one application.
Federal Military Tuition Assistance
Military Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Congress has given each service the ability to pay up to 100% for the tuition expenses of its members. Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process' and restrictions. This money is usually paid directly to the institution by the individual services.
Remission of Fees
There are two different Remission of Fees Programs offered throught the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs: Indiana Purple Heart and Children of Disable Indiana Veterans
Indiana National Guard Supplement Grant
The Indiana National Guard Supplemental Grant guarantees up to 100% of tuition for eligible members of the Indiana Air and Army National Guard who are in active drilling status.
Coast Guard Foundation Scholarship
The Scholarship Program provides information and resources on financial assistance to members of Team Coast Guard. The Scholarship Program is available to the following members of Team Coast Guard: Active Duty, Reserve, Retirees and their dependents, Civil Service employees, and Exchange System and MWR employees.
Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)
Military OneSource Career and Education counselors will have a much more active role in supporting military spouses. In addition to understanding resources available via DoD’s financial aid support, they will provide support and assistance to identify and gain access to other federal, state and local programs. All military spouses of active duty service members will be eligible for career counseling and support.
