Founded in 1801 VU is Indiana’s first college making your degree widely recognized by top employers! Vincennes is a vibrant city rich with culture and history. Here you will find many unique local happenings such as the George Rogers Clark National Historic park, Fort Knox II, and the mansion of VU founder and US President William Henry Harrison.

Those with a college degree tend to earn more, a lot more. With a bachelor’s degree you may earn approximately $1 million more than someone with a high school diploma. New academic year kicks off with Opening Meeting

The pace of change in higher education is accelerating. Vincennes University President Dr. Chuck Johnson and several other University leaders offered updates on the VU strategic plan, “Going Further, Faster” and detailed the University's progress during its annual Opening Meeting. Faculty and staff from across VU sites and locations attended virtually plus filled the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center on Monday, Aug. 8, for the first in-person Opening Meeting since prior to the global pandemic in 2019.

Project ASPIREE grant renewed, program helps students pursue postsecondary education

The Project ASPIREE (Achieving Success through Participation In Reaching Educational Excellence) program sponsored by Vincennes University has secured a renewal grant that will provide $328,413 this year to underrepresented students who have the potential to succeed in higher education. Project ASPIREE identifies and assists individuals from income-eligible backgrounds or potential first-generation students. It is a federally funded TRIO Talent Search Program supported by the Department of Education. VU’s program is funded for a five-year cycle.

VU introduces new accelerated nursing bachelor’s degree

Vincennes University will offer a new bachelor’s degree program in nursing at its Vincennes and Jasper campuses beginning in August. The LPN to BSN program will provide an accelerated path for licensed practical nurses to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as they build on the prior knowledge they accumulated as LPNs and transition to careers as registered nurses.

The Vincennes University Alumni Association is soliciting nominations for the 2022 Walter A. Davis Memorial Citation. All University alumni and friends are eligible to make nominations at any time, however, the deadline for the 2022 award nominations is Aug. 14, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. EDT.
